A topic review is a critical synthesis of a series of research papers (or any scholarly literature) on a specific research topic. A topic review generally provides background information, introduces key studies, and discusses existing conflicts among the studies in that research topic. It could also include a critical evaluation of the research methods employed in the field as well as in the laboratory. Therefore, a topic review is not a simple collection of summaries of peer-reviewed research articles on a given topic.
In this assignment, you will write a topic review on “Dating of Speleothems”. The goal of this assignment is to provide a critical synthesis of the current research on dating methods for paleoclimate records from speleothems. Please see the rubric below for more details.
