1-You have to create your own question related to Quantitive Genetics. The questions has to be open ended to all for discussion and debate. It can not be direct. You must add a description that support your question. You can not answer the question in the description. It is following the same pattern as the questions below.
2- Answer to this two questions independently:
a)How does quantitative genetics have an effect in genotypes and phenotypes?
Desscription:
Quantitative genetics is referred to the complex study of characters that are not affected by the action of a few major genes which non-genetic factors may be of importance. On the other hand, quantitative characteristics or traits are measurable phenotype that depend on many actions of genes and environmental conditions. Some examples include but or not limited to height, skin color, weight and even predisposition to diseases. With this information provided above, how would you explain the steps that lead to the direct effects of genotypes and phenotypes by quantitative genetics?
b)Could additive effects determine the intensity of basic human features?
Description:
Additive effects mean that the intensity of a trait will increase with every allele present that codes for the trait. Therefore, just as the word, additive, states, the more alleles added or present, cause the phenotype to be more intense. This could deal with color, height, etc. Sometimes the environment can play a role, as well.
With this, what features on the human body can be determined or intensified by additive alleles? Could basic phenotypes like skin color or eye color be determined by additive alleles? How could this be?
Below is an image displaying the additive allele effect. Generations are shown, as well as the ratios of possibilities that could occur for each child in the F3 generation.
