1 . Read carefully Chapter 5 and the different types of samples.
Listed below are the alternative samples obtained by a health care marketing research firm for its clients. Describe the type of sample each represents.
(a) Ten people sitting in the waiting room are asked to describe the ambiance of the facility and the attitude of the receptionist.
(b) The medical school samples alumni regarding an evaluation of their education. Respondents are selected in an amount equal to the same population of specialties from the graduating class.
(c) The walk-in clinic calls every 15th patient who visited the clinic on Wednesday to assess whether the patient was greeted by the receptionist and given a handbook regarding the scope of services and an explanation of how the clinic operates.
2 After reading Chapter 6 answer the following question:
Bethesda Hospital recently has developed an occupational medicine program. It wants to target employers in the Baltimore metropolitan area. The director of the program has a range of services within this program including toxicology assessment, education around issues such as preventing back injuries and stress management, and providing medical treatment at factories, should it be desired.
Suggest three alternative ways the customer base for this new service could be segmented, and indicate how each base of segmentation would result in a change in the marketing mix.

A SWOT analysis is “a tool that may be used to identify an organization’s internal strengths and weaknesses as well as an organization’s external opportunities and threats.”(Cellucci, 2014) Four aspects of business are strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. These aspects ask several important questions which assess a company’s current position before any changes or strategies are decided upon. I chose to analyze the American Heart Association as it holds a special place in my heart.
The American Heart Association is a well known and very important organization. Founded by Paul Dudley White in 1924, the organization was born to improve heart health and reduce lives from cardiovascular disease and stroke. “Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally.” (AHA, 2021  ) “More than 800,000 people in the United States die from cardiovascular disease each year.” (CDC, 2021)
Their mission statement is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. They have spent nearly 100 years striving to fulfill those tasks by helping fund lifesaving research and medical breakthroughs. The success stories amidst this healthcare organization are astounding.
An example is 3-year-old Ariel Hernandez. It was learned Ariel had heart issues once she was born, which unfortunately is a common factor with down syndrome patients, which she also has. She had a groundbreaking heart surgery at just 2 years old. The specific procedure had previously only been performed in Brazil. This procedure closed 2 holes and repaired 2 valves all through a small incision under her right arm. Doing amazingly well, she is now a model and heart ambassador. Stories such as Ariel’s are abundant within this organizations successes.
The American Heart Association is in our communities each and every day. They have the Heart Campaign which is their signature fundraising method. You have likely seen these in retailers etc. It is the little red hearts where you write your name on them after donating. There are also heart walks, wear red day, the Heart Ball, and even jump rope for heart. The association educates, makes change, provides resources, and funds research.
My father had his first cardiac event at 40 and has suffered several major heart attacks over the last 30 years. However, research has come a long way in this time and these advancements have prolonged my father’s quality of life and life span. He received a new heart valve, TAVI, a minimally invasive procedure which has him more active than he has been in years. AMA helped make that happen!
The Bible says your actions are a result of what is in your heart. Not the physicality of your heart, but the composition of mind, emotion, and will. While physically our hearts keep up alive, our heart is the entrance and exit of our being. So, while our physical heart keeps us alive physically, the state of our heart belongs to God. Mark 12:30 says, “And you shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart and from your whole soul and from your whole mind and from your whole strength.” (DLNT)
reply 2:
he organization I decided to do my SWOT analysis on is Pfizer. The SWOT analysis will help show their strengths, weakness, opportunities, and threat. “The primary objective of a SWOT analysis is to help organizations develop a full awareness of all the factors involved in making a business decision. This method was created in the 1960s by Albert Humphrey of the Stanford Research Institute, during a study conducted to identify why corporate planning consistently failed. Since its creation, SWOT has become one of the most useful tools for business owners to start and grow their companies’” (schooley, 2019). Pfizer has been in the media a lot recently and they create beneficial vaccinations.
Pfizer is a pharmaceutical company that originated in America. I decided to choose Pfizer as the company to run a SWOT analysis on for multiple reasons. The first reason would be that they have become very publicized in the most recent years due to the COVID-19 outbreak. It is very interesting to see what they have been able to accomplish, especially with all of the backlash they have been receiving. Pfizer has helped the general population by creating and developing a beneficial vaccine that serves and protects our communities. The second reason I decided to choose Pfizer to run a SWOT analysis report on is because I am genuinely interested in seeing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats this company holds. Pfizers mission statement is “It was the vision of Charles Pfizer at the very beginning, and it holds true today in everything we do. From scientific discovery to breakthrough products to our essential partnerships around the world, we’re committed to quality healthcare for everyone. Because every individual matters” (Our mission). Pfizer is using public health sector to stay on track with morals of Christianity. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galations 6:9, ESV, The Holy Bible).

Management memo 2:
You are required to write “one page” memo, which summarizes the key management implications you derive from the four readings assigned for Sessions 10. This memo should aim to specify the primary action steps you would recommend to the management of an organization (yours, or more generally) to capitalize on the insights you gleaned from a synthesis of the readings assigned for that session. Considering that set of readings as a whole, would advice would you give to those responsible for managing an organization? The memo should be less than 600 words (not including header information). Per the text, when patients cannot receive needed medical care, nursing services, or rehabilitation therapies in a community-based setting, they are typically admitted to a long-term care facility, where medical care is traditionally delivered by physicians and/or practitioners with advanced qualifications. All nursing services in long-term care facilities are delivered by a nursing staff which is headed by a Director of Nursing (DON).
Compare and contrast the roles of the medical director and the DON.
Select the role which has the overall greater impact on patient care.
Provide a rationale for your response.

After reading Chapters 11&12 answer the following:
1. The Empathy Campaign—On an emotional level, one of the strongest campaigns created by the Cleveland Clinic was their “Empathy Campaign.” As a large, major international center, this campaign, as can be seen in the YouTube site, was viewed over two million times. Its reception externally and among internal employees was extremely positive and continues to receive favorable market response.

Select and describe ONE of the healthcare systems in ONE of the countries described in the PBS video. Your choices are:
The National Health System (NHS) of Great Britain
The Japanese Social Insurance Model
The German Bismarck Model
Taiwan’s National Insurance System
Switzerland’s National Healthcare System
Compare the healthcare system you have selected in that country to the current US Healthcare system under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Administration systems. The video The Trouble with US Healthcare gives you great insight into the U.S. Healthcare system.
Include a description of how the model works in the other country and compare that to the health care system in the United States.  Would that model work in the U.S.?
Use examples from the videos, and course content to support your discussion.
Answer these questions in your discussion:
Is this model better or worse than the U.S. Healthcare system?
Use course content and ethical theories/principles to back up your opinion.
Use examples from the videos to support your position.
How did you feel hearing the stories about the American’s impacted negatively by the American healthcare system?
Consider the following questions (suggestions):
Should everyone in America have healthcare?
Is it the responsibility of the government to its citizens to provide healthcare?
Support your belief with course content and use ethical principles and theories.
What are the ethical and moral issues and dilemmas?
Is it a moral issue?
Use examples from the videos to support your position.
What are some of the consequences of the US Healthcare system on the health of Americans?
What is the responsibility of the healthcare consumer (patients) to provide and pay for their own healthcare?
Your paper must contain and address the following:
Paper Requirements: (you may use the template provided)
Your paper must be typed, double-spaced, using 12 point Times New Roman font
Use 1-inch margins on all sides
Your paper must be at least 3 pages, but no more than 4 pages. This means the paper should be at least 3 full pages (not 2 ½), and no more than 4 (not 4 ½)
The title page and the reference page are required (these do not count in the required 3 pages).
APA Style: All citations (e.g. if you refer to your text or another source) must be in the correct APA 7 style within the text of your paper and be included in your list of references
I have provided you with a reference page list for the videos used and some of the reference material.  It is located in the assignment #4 folder. If you use other references you must add them to the reference page. If you do not use a reference that I have listed, you must remove it from the reference page.  Any reference listed on your reference page must be used at least once in the text of your paper.
You should strive to demonstrate depth and complexity of thought. This means that it is evident from your writing that you clearly thought about the topic as demonstrated in the examples you provided.
It should be clear that examples are written in your own words, and were not merely copied from an external source such as your textbook or the videos. Paraphrasing and direct quotes are allowed, when cited properly, but the majority of your paper must be your own thoughts.
Introductory Paragraph
Introduce the reader to what you will discuss in your paper
Include a statement about the ethics of providing access to healthcare to all Americans, the uninsured and the under-insured.
In the introduction, the writer attracts the attention of the reader and prepares him for the information that will be discussed. It should include a brief overview of the topic.  In the introduction, the writer tells the audience what he is going to tell them about and declares a strong thesis statement or the point of the paper at the end of the introduction. It should not be too long or be filled with factual information. The factual information will come later in the paper and must reflect back to the introduction.
Body of the Paper (suggestions)
Each paragraph of the body of the paper should begin with a topic sentence that states the point that is being made in the paragraph. Complete each paragraph with a sentence that reiterates the topic sentence at the beginning of the paragraph.
The essay should be clearly organized and structured.
Your paper should have several paragraphs, and not be large chunks of writing without the use of paragraphs.
You should use transition sentences between paragraphs to help the reader move from one paragraph to the next. This means, even though each paragraph may have its own idea or thought within it, it also flows with the entire paper. Each paragraph should be connected in some way.
Your paper should make sense, meaning the reader can follow your train of thought in a logical way. Be cautious of long, run-on sentences. If a sentence seems too long, try to break it up into more than one sentence.
Discuss the ethics of providing access to healthcare for the uninsured and the under-insured. Should all Americans be provided with free healthcare?  You must make a statement about this, drawing upon ethical principles and values.
You must also make a statement about the opposite argument, drawing upon ethical principles and values.
Some ethical principles and values you might consider and use are (note: there is no wrong answer here and you do not have to use all of them)
Beneficence
Empathy
Fidelity
Justice
Tolerance
Compassion
Responsibility
Sanctity of Life
Conclusion
This is the last paragraph of your paper.  Your paper must have a conclusion where you review what you have discussed in the paper and give a conclusion to your written document.
In general, the introduction of your paper tells the reader what you are going to tell them about.
At the beginning of your conclusion paragraph, restate the thesis statement from your introduction.  Then briefly summarize the points you made in the body of the paper.
The conclusion should tell the reader what you have told them in a summary format.  You are making a logical conclusion statement about what you have told the reader.
No new information is presented in the conclusion paragraph.
Reference Page
References are critically important as evidence to support your assertions.  At least two references must be used and documented in APA 7 format.  Since the assignment requires you to view two videos, documentation of the two videos must be on the reference page.  (I have formatted them for you).
You may use examples and evidence from outside resources and/or course content (such as your text and other videos). However, your definitions or examples should not merely be copied word for word. You should paraphrase or summarize any outside source.
The use of outside evidence should also be correct. This means if I examine the outside resource that it will say what you said it does.
You must also not plagiarize. If you use an outside resource (including the text), you must appropriately cite this source and give credit where credit is due. Plagiarism means you have written something and claimed the information is your own when in actuality you have obtained the information from another source or subject matter expert.  It is okay to use the information as long as you cite the source. Even if you paraphrase from a source you must cite the source.
A list of the references used to write the paper must be included on a separate page at the end of an APA document.  (I have provided the format and some references for you in the template).
Every reference cited in the text of the paper must be listed on the reference page
Every reference listed on the reference page must be used as a citation in the text of the paper.
A reference page, to include a list of your resources used and/or cited in your paper must be included on a separate page at the end of your paper.
This page does not count towards the page requirement for the assignment.
Title Page
A title page, which does not count towards the page requirement listed above, must include the following information, each line centered and double spaced:
the title of your paper
your name
the name of the college
