In this Assignment we ask you to write an academic essay on how managers can constructively address issues of diversity in the workforce. To do so first choose ONE aspect of diversity you want to work on. E.g., gender diversity, culture, age diversity etc. Then follow the 4 steps to writing this essay detailed below: Step 1: Read & Watch the 3 compulsory sources There are 3 COMPULSORY SOURCES you HAVE to include in your Assignment 1 essay response. These 3 compulsory sources include the two journal articles and the TEDx Talk link given. Step 2: Find at least three credible peer-reviewed academic journal articles IN ADDITION to the resources in Step 1 that address the key points of your essay Now that you have noted how these three resources help you address the topic question, what other peer-reviewed academic journal articles can you find to help you build on those arguments and also help you to consider effectively managing your chosen aspect of diversity? When searching for other journal articles consider the following key points/questions: Why is diversity management important for contemporary organizations? What are the challenges/problems faced by managers in managing your chosen aspect of diversity? How can managers overcome these challenges? What practices/strategies can managers implement to effectively manage your chosen aspect of diversity? What management theories can be used or modified to help managers to effectively manage your chosen aspect of diversity? Select between 3 – 6 journal articles you wish to include. Take notes or mark up the articles to identify the key points. Next, analyse the key points above in relation to the topic question. Use these key points to support your approach to answering the topic question in the 4 body paragraphs of your essay. ‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍ Step 3: Write your persuasive essay Do not use the first person in the essay but write it in the THIRD PERSON (., The author……) Word limit 1000 words (+/- 10%) (excluding reference list). The document must be typed in MS Word using an appropriate font, . Times New Roman, Helvetica, Cambria or Arial (size 12 pt, line spacing and left aligned). The document must include: -An introduction (200 words): -Briefly introduce the purpose of this essay. Within the introductory paragraph you will need to foreground or signpost key topics you will address in the body paragraphs for this essay. -Four Body paragraphs (4 x 150 words each): Remember to support your argument with in-text references (counts towards overall word limit) -A Conclusion (200 words): The conclusion must briefly summarise the key points in the body paragraphs.
