   • Clearly state how much money you are requesting in your business plan and the terms under which you anticipate obtaining the funds.
   • Will you use debt to finance the business? Explain.
   • If you are asking for equity, how have you determined the value of the company and for what amount? (How did you calculate the valuation?)
3. 8.2 Exit Strategy
   • How will investors get paid back/out? (Public offering? Employee buyout? Merger or acquisition? Liquidation? Stock buyback?)  
   • Do you plan to franchise your business, or license any of your products? Explain your reasons and how.

1. 7.0 Financial Analysis & Projections
   • After an introductory sentence, describe your record keeping system, including software name and whether it is specific to your industry.
   • What types of bank accounts will you need to open for the business?
2. 7.1 Sources & Uses of Capital
   • How much capital do you need? When? What type and what terms?
   • How will you use the money you raised? (Be very specific.)
   • List all the items will you need to buy to start the business and get estimated costs of each in a table format. Add up all the costs to determine your start-up costs.
   • What is your payback period? How long will it take for you to earn enough profits to pay back the start up capital?
   • List and describe your monthly fixed costs. Show your break even calculations.
3. 7.2 Cash Flow Projections
   • Create a projected Cash Flow Statement, using either the direct or indirect method.
   • Calculate the burn rate for your business.

2. 5.3 Promotion
   • Explain your plans for promotion, including the message, the media you will use, and distribution channels. Include a table to show the methods and the budgets you intend.
   • Create a sample of an example marketing material.
   • Does your company have a slogan? What is it?
   • Create a sample logo for your company.
   • Where, specifically, and how often will you advertise your product/service?
   • How will you publicize your organization?
   • What information will you keep in your customer database? How will you seek repeat purchases from previous customers?
   • Identify the ways you intend to provide superior customer service (in-house, outsourced, or independent sales force)?
   • Can customers expect personal assistance, automated service, or self-service?
3. 5.4 Place
   • Where will you sell your product/service (physical and virtual)? What are the advantages and disadvantages of your choices?
   • What is the workforce availability in your area as it pertains to employees for your needs? (Use online census or workforce data as support — cite and reference these.)

For the first part, you will use research from the internet. You will answer the questions based on your research and/or experiences with the company.

For questions without clear answers, as the “expert,” you may answer the question(s) based on your readings and what you would recommend to the business owner. The sections should be submitted in paragraph form. Graphs, tables, and images may be necessary to convey business recommendations and the financials.
