In this particular speech, you are to pretend that you are introducing the keynote speaker at a conference entitled “Making a Difference.” Your goal is to basically introduce the keynote speaker and give the audience a bit of background about what they can expect from this speaker and their presentation. This speech is 2-4 minutes long. You have 3 components to this speech:
1) Greet the audience and do any housekeeping (e.g. make announcements, discuss any changes to the program, highlight anything that you think is missing)
2) Build the Speaker’s ethos. This is the most important aspect of the speech and where you will spend the bulk of the speech. You should talk about the speaker’s accomplishments in making a difference in the lives of whoever they serve. What specifically have they done or will be doing? What are their accomplishments in how they have done these things. Here is where you want to do research into that speaker’s life and accomplishments.
3) Provide a brief descriiption of the topic the keynote speaker will be discussing. Here you will offer a title of the presentation and describe in a couple of sentences what they will be discussing. Then you will introduce the speaker.
