Create a novel visualization of a classic dataset on historic hotel visitation patterns. This dataset is available in the course module.
“Novel” means a kind of visualization I haven’t seen before. You
should not be able to generate it in Excel or any other tool because it
should be a type of visualization that no one has done before.
Submit at least 2 sketches of your ideas with a brief description of what the visualization means.
The final visualization can be hand drawn or computer generated.
Either way, it must be a professional, finished product, easily
distinguishable from your sketches. Labels should be clearly legible.
Lines should be straight (use a straight edge). Use color where
appropriate. This should be a fully finished product.
Submit everything as a single PDF.
Grading
6 points – novelty of design
3 points – final visualization
2 points – at least 2 sketches and ideas
