Mujerista theology has become an emergent form of discussing issues of oppression and authority not only within the church but in society as well. It has done so successfully by utilizing a liberative praxis gleaned from Gutierrez’s liberation theology and by rallying supporters by adapting Freire’s conscientization theory. The importance of mujerista theology is that at its core, the theology draws from a lived person experience by first drawing on Latin women.
