I NEED A RESEARCH PROPOSAL AND THE RESEARCH/ARGUMENT PAPER
TIP WILL BE ADDED ACCORDINGLY
2 SEPARATE ASSIGNMENTS
For this assignment, you will select and explore a contemporary controversy. You will research this controversy, gathering credible sources, in order to explain it to a general audience and to develop an informed position on the issue.
(The Research Proposal leads directly into our next assignment, the Research and Argument Paper, so be sure to choose a topic that interests you.)
The Research Proposal consists of three sections:
The Issue (300-500 words)
Explain the controversy to a general audience, providing the necessary background information. What is the issue and why is it controversial? Your summary should be supported by research, and all sources should be cited appropriately in APA format.
Your Position (250 words)
Offer a brief summary of your position on the issue.
Annotated Bibliography (APA format: 3 sources, 50-100 words for each annotation)
An annotated bibliography follows the same format as a regular Reference List, but it also includes a summary/evaluation of each source. Your Annotated Bibliography should follow APA format and offer brief summaries/reviews for each of your three sources. Research and Argument Paper
For this assignment, you will take an informed position on the issue you wrote about for the Research Proposal assignment, arguing persuasively for that position to an audience of your peers. Your argument should use all of the available means of persuasion (ethos, logos, and pathos), and it must be supported by credible sources.
Guidelines:
Your paper must be submitted to D2L in Word format.
Your paper must be 1,000 to 1,500 words in length.
Your paper must adhere to APA formatting guidelines, including a title page, in-text citations, and a properly formatted Reference List.
Your paper must incorporate evidence from 3-5 credible sources, each of which must be credited appropriately.
To credit one’s sources appropriately means that all borrowed language, borrowed information, and borrowed ideas must be accompanied by a citation; borrowed language must also be enclosed in quotation marks. All sources should also appear on your Reference List.
Failure to credit one’s sources appropriately is plagiarism.
