How did imperialism and colonialism change, from the nineteenth to the twentieth and the twenty-first centuries? How did this affect the struggles of people who were “colonized” to gain more freedom and self-determination? In light of the changes in both the tools used by imperialists and the ways that history now understands anti-colonial struggles, what does the history we covered this semester suggest about the present and the future?
