Division K Graduate Student Pre-Conference Seminar Annual Meeting 2022 Applications for the Division K Graduate Student Pre-Conference Seminar with the 2022 Annual Meeting are now being accepted! Application deadline is January 3, 2022. Research in teaching and teacher education, as a multifaceted field shaped by complex and competing perspectives across diverse theoretical, methodological and ideological perspectives, has much to contribute to the 2022 theme “Cultivating Equitable Education Systems for the 21st Century.” Through work and debates on how teacher education, professional development, and educational policy contribute to entrenched inequities within and beyond educational institutions, Division K is committed to ameliorating inequities and injustices in teaching and teacher education. The Graduate Student Pre-Conference Seminar is a place for emerging scholars to explore how their research is located within these debates. It is also a place to develop a better understanding of their emerging role as teacher educators who engage in educational research for the public good, and who contribute to teacher education theory and practice. This pre-conference seminar also allows for opportunities to meet and talk with other emerging and established scholars in the field of teacher education research about key aspects of transitioning to the academy, including publishing, navigating the job market, and different career trajectories. The seminar will occur virtually, the specific date to be determined. Applications from graduate students doing research on any aspect of the Division’s work in Teaching and Teacher Education are eligible, and those focused on the Division’s call for focusing on issues of social and educational in/equity and in/justice are further encouraged. All methodological approaches and all theoretical frameworks are welcomed.
