As a basic guide, I would like the paper to include the history of art fraud and how art appropriation has been used overtime in the art community as context. Examples can include the artists Mark Bidlo and Perio Manzoni who openly made a career out of appropriating art. I would also like Mark Landis to be used as an example, as he gained fame for getting away with forging thousands of artworks and donating them to museums instead of gaining profit, for contrast. He appeared in a documentary called Art & Craft. If possible, discussion can branch out into the validity of art in the cryptoworld as NFTS have become increasingly popular, further facilitating the appropriation of art due to bought-ownership properties. Academic sources preferred. Based on the evidence and sources found, the thesis is up to you. Some guiding questions to address could be: what makes art valuable/where does its value come from? Does the appropriation of art increase its value and accessibility? Or does it decrease it because it’s too accessible?
