The producers of Jeopardy! must find a new host for the show.
1. Replacement has to be found immediately after Mayim Bialik’s exit
2. Should help the show to reach younger demographics
3. The host should not be linked to controversial statements
4. Must respect the show’s history and its’ essence as well.
5. There should be marketing campaign for the new host as well
6. The speech should be within five minutes.
I picked James Corden for the new host of Jeopardy! Below are the reason why.
First reason: Strong presence on Youtube
For Jeopardy! to reach out to younger audiences, the show should gain more presence on digital media platforms such as Youtube. Younger generations do not watch television as much as the older generation anymore. According to statistics, people aged 18-34 watch 2 hours and 35-49 watch 4 hours of television a day. It might not seem like a huge gap but
Jeopardy! is also trying to adapt to the digital market from traditional television. To gain a stronger presence, the show should hire a host that has an established youtube presence. He has built up a strong youtube presence from his famous shows such as Carpool Karaoke, and that is why James Corden should be hired as the host of Jeopardy!.
Second reason: His casual style of connecting with the guests from the show
After watching the most recent episode, the show seemed too concentrated on the quiz factor. Instead, the show should try to add more comedy factors like how Steve Harvey hosts Family Feud. He tries to connect with the contestants more and make jokes during the quiz show. For example, when one of the contestants gets the answer wrong, he makes jokes about the wrong answer. People might have been more interested in how much money the contestants win by getting more correct answers. However, the focus of watching a show seems to have moved to how much viewers enjoy the show. Jeopardy! It is a show with its’ long history, but they need to change by hiring a new host who is more flexible.
These are the points that summarized after reading the main assignment instruction paper. Please read the attached document to elaborate and check if there are some points that I missed. It would be nice if the format of the speech is in a bulleted format. For example, saying I have five factors that I have considered when choosing the host for the show. First,…
Please message me if there are anything that needs to be clarified.
Thank you!

Technical Paper – Structure and Key Elements
1) Short Intro to the problem (like you did in Proposal) >> tracking on social media, addiction, fake truths etc. This problem will be in direct relation to the technical information given in the body of the essay. Elements: give background and context >> the way we use social platforms and how they affect us. [Tr.] Introduce your subject: the app you will talk about, associated problem, technical issues that you will focus on. Define the purpose of the investigation and your paper. Briefly outline overall approach and objective.
2) Body. Please follow the P structure that has: mini thesis/clear statement + explanation (clarifying that statement) + evidence and examples, your support + conclusion (bringing points together) and transition to the next P (these can be the same sentence)
In body paragraphs, give technical information and descriiption of your chosen technical aspect >> algorithm, process (data mining, tracking), ranking. This will include clear definitions and explanations and support from your sources.
One of your goals is to give reader a “mental model” of how the technology works. Group facts into a pattern (from basic to more complex, from small (detailed) to large (general) or vice versa, chronological, spatial). You can use organizing tools such as listing (first, second, next), causal relations (therefore, because of, resulting in), descriiption (for example, in particular, such as) or problem-solution (in response to, as a solution, to answer the question).
This will be the bulk of your paper.
3) Conclusion: summary of your findings • What are the key findings? What does your descriiption capture/show? – How does your study/essay contribute to the objective stated in your introduction?
Other Elements:
• Title
The title is what draws reader to your work – Reveals the topic of the paper – Should include keywords about the project • Make the title interesting and attractive
• Objective
The objective of the paper is the reason given for writing the paper. By stating your objective, you’re telling the reader exactly what you’re hoping to accomplish (demonstrate, learn, or illustrate) in your essay.
• Technical writing
Technical writing encompasses all documentation of complex technical processes. Its goal is to ensure readers’ understanding of the information. One of the main reasons why technical writing might be bad is lack of research.
• Technical information
“Technical information” refers to written materials whose function is to provide the reader with factual information. Readers’ use of information is perhaps the most apparent of the differences between technical and nontechnical communications. Technical writers need to decide which information the reader needs to know and understand, as clearly as possible.
This paper must use at least two scholarly sources and at least two more acceptable sources (either scholarly, or from Google Scholar, or from valid .edu or .org source). In specific cases, .com sources are acceptable (for the two out of four) if they come from trusted scientific popular magazines or news sources.

Using the theories of McLuhan, WIlliams, and Enzensberger, and drawing on lectures and other materials, write a journal entry of at least 300 words addressing the following:
a. What does McLuhan mean when he says, ‘the medium is the message?’
b. How do McLuhan and Williams conceive of the relationship between the medium and the message (i.e. between form and content)?
c. How is this related to technological determinism and social constructionism?
Please refer to the material that we’ve looked at together and embed at least one concrete example of creative work.

please watch the John Oliver Last Week Tonight (HBO, 2020) segment on conspiracy theories below (22 minutes). After you have watched it, please respond to the 3 corresponding questions in at least 250 words (1/2 page single spaced). The word count requirement is a total, not per question.

Because the above video includes elements of many of the topics we’ve discussed in this unit (“fake” news, social media, logical fallacies), it is good fodder for discussion. After watching, please respond to the following questions in your response:
1) Did you identify any logical fallacies in John’s argument? If not, what were some of the fallacies he alludes to being present in conspiracy theories?
2) Do you believe what John is saying about conspiracy theories and their spread? Why or why not? In other words, what is compelling about his argument and/or what turns you off to it?
3) Which conspiracy theory(ies) have you encountered and/or been tempted to believe during these last 20 months? Where did you first come across it/them?

*NEED TO WATCH “TWO-LANE BLACKTOPI” BY MONTE HELLMAN* FILM SYNOPSIS Monte Hell

*NEED TO WATCH “TWO-LANE BLACKTOPI” BY MONTE HELLMAN*
FILM SYNOPSIS
Monte Hellman’s Two-Lane Blacktopis another kind of cult film, quite different from those we have seen. Instead of being camp, poor quality or generic, instead it is well made and artful, serious without being pretentious, and innovative. While many have found the film to be slow and boring (since little actually happens in terms of a plot), others have lauded the film as an artistic and unique take on the road film. There’s certainly a fair amount of paratext but all of it is in retrospect and concerns the deaths at relatively young ages of three of the four main actors (Bird was only 25 when she ended her own life, Wilson drowned when he was 38 and Oates died of a sudden heart attack in his early 50’s). Instead, Two-Lane Blacktopfalls into the category of “underappreciated when it came out”, a film that is considered a classic today, one of the defining films of its genre but was not popular when it was released
FILM QUESTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ANSWERED ON PAPER
Given what we’ve discussed and read about cult movies to this point in the semester, consider how Two-Lane Blacktopbecame a cult film. Instead of paratext and camp, what elements of the story, characters and themes make it available and amenable to cult film status? Why might audiences and critics have panned it in 1972, but admire it today?
