Choose an object (inventive, unique). Make Make sure that it is complex enough as
an object so that you can write three substantial pages about it. Write a 3-page paper (double-spaced, 12 point in Times New Roman) doing a visual analysis of the object. Explore the object’s effects on your five senses – Does it have heft and substance? Or, is it as light as a piece of paper? Is there a smell to the object? If so, describe it. How does the form, material, size, etc. affect how it functions and how it feels? Go for it and really get a sense of this object in your hands.
Describe it in a poignant way however you see fit. Do not explain the history. Do not tell the story of how you got it or where you got it. There is no need to do any research in books, on the internet, etc. This project is about describing the object using your five senses.
The goal of the paper is for the reader to be able to visualize and understand the object without ever seeing it. Include a picture in the end as a fourth page.
