YOU MUST WRITE ABOUT THE ATTACHED ARTICLE(S): file:///C:/Users/hp/Downloads/Gara%20et%20al.pdf Each response paper should be relatively brief, about 2-3 double-spaced pages in length. In their response papers, students should critically reflect on the week’s assigned journal articles. Show that you have read, understood, and thought deeply about the material, and structure your paper around your central argument rather than summarizing the paper. Again, these response papers should NOT be summaries of the readings. Also, I am not looking for you to do a literature search and write a mini-term paper. Lastly, try to avoid an intervention focus. What I will be looking for is creativity and the ability to develop and support a line of argument. In particular, students should demonstrate integration of the material, making connections among the readings. For response papers submitted for Sessions 4-12, students should also strive to prior learning and insights from the readings on how biological, cognitive, affective, social, and multicultural factors independently, interactively, and mechanistically contribute to the developmental psychopathology of the given disorder(s). At minimum, students should write about two of the week’s articles in each response paper. Here are some questions to help with students’ reflections: (1) What insights do the articles tell you about the role of biological, cognitive, affective, social, and multicultural factors in shaping risk for the developmental psychopathology of the given disorder(s)? (2) What are the strengths and weaknesses of the methodological approach or approaches in the articles? (3) What are differences and similarities among the articles? (4) Do you agree with the conclusions of the articles? Why or why not? (5) What might be some of the clinical or public health implications of the articles? Do they relate to any cases you have seen so far? (6) How is the topic of the articles reflected in the mainstream media? Accurately? Inaccurately? What would you want the public to know about the topic? (7) Do you have any personal experiences with this topic? For example, do you know anyone who is affected by the disorder, symptom, or phenomenon? Is the content of the articles consistent or inconsistent with your experience? (8) How have the articles contributed to your understanding of developmental psychopathology? Were the findings or conclusions surprising in any way, or did they reflect what you consider to be “common sense”?
