Each question has multiple components and it is not sufficient to give a general, anecdotal answer. You must evidence comprehension of the topics and use examples or concepts from the readingsand class lectures.
All essays should be in paragraph form and other formats are not acceptable and will result in point deductions. Your answers should be clear and concise, and you must use correct APA format for references and in-text citations.

1. Congratulations! You have just been asked to serve as the educational advocate on a Poverty Taskforce that has been set up to analyze childhood poverty. Your taskforce needs to create a policy report that discusses the issue of poverty and the impact on children. You also need to evaluate TANF to learn if it addresses childhood poverty. In this report (your essay), delineate some of the main effects of poverty on children and the processes by which poverty can affect children. Next, describe the goals of TANF and describe whether TANF addresses poverty in children (e.g., what is the impact of TANF on children’s outcomes).As a taskforce, you should also present solutions/suggestions. Thus, the third section of your report should present suggestions as to how you would modify TANF to accommodate the huge number of children and families who live in California (i.e., what would you change, what would you keep the same andwhy). Finally, note whether your taskforce would recommend changesto any of the eligibility requirements such as immigration status, FPT eligibility, and time limits (and why or why not).
