Discussion: ARTISTIC HAIKU POEMVisual art communicates to us. Think about putting the communication experience of looking at an artwork into poetic words. To keep all of your poems short, sweet, and standardized, we will use the format of the Japanese Haiku. Find Your Representational Sculpture:Find a representational sculpture around town to inspire your poem. Snap a photo. A photo that shows you standing besides it is preferred, but not required. Be sure to also mention where the sculpture is located in your thread.Be sure to embed your image/s (just like in the demo below). DO NOT attach the image/s in word doc or pdf files. Create your Haiku:A haiku uses just a few words to capture a moment and create a picture in the reader’s mind. It is like a tiny window into a scene much larger than itself. Traditionally, haiku is written in three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five syllables in the third line. Avoid using huge file sizes, they may not upload into Canvas.Part 2: Post your Haiku. Be sure to be descriptive. If you see the opportunity to implement the Visual Toolbox and Principles of Design you may do so. Make sure that the poem that you post is your very own. Be sure to tell us the name of the artist and the title of the artwork below or besides the attached image.Part 3: Respond to a minimum of 2 other student Threads.Points will be distributed in this manner: Discussion- 20 maxOriginal and relevant content (5 points max)- Displaying you have studied and are knowledgeable of the material by addressing required prompts and writing your own thoughts and feelings regarding the material’s content. A critical analysis (5 points max)- Exhibiting you have engaged with the material by address prompts directly by providing original, insightful observations and thought-provoking commentary- in both your post and classmate responses. Engaging Responses (5 points max)- Engage in critical analysis of the content present in your classmate’s post. You are expected to provide insightful observations, thought-provoking commentary, or feedback to your classmates. Only responses that engage and encourage critical thinking­­ will receive maximum credit.Quality of writing (5 points max)- Cleary and concisely articulates ideas and feelings about the material utilizing good sentence fluency (syntax), spelling, and grammar. College-level writing is required.**Note-many of the rubric’s requirements overlap, applying to both your post and response. *The purpose of this exercise is to promote critical thinking. Be sure to provide detailed and supportive answers. One-word answers like “cool, awesome, lol” are not sufficient. You will be graded on the quality of your posts and responses. Failure to respond to at least 2 posts will cost you points. Be mindful and polite to one another, and more importantly, be creative and have fun.
