Historians from many different areas of Revolutionary War study will be brought together to present their interpretation of what event started the Revolutionary War and who is to blame for starting the Revolutionary War.
Write a 1 to 1 1/2 page double spaced persuasion statement, trying to convince the other historians The Boston Tea Party is the correct event/ real beginning of the Revolutionary War.
Assign blame for the beginning of the war based on your interpretation of what caused the Revolutionary War.
In MLA format.
You must use at least 2 sources and they should be cited in MLA format.
Suggested Structure:
First – Explain your event in context. What happened to cause it, what is your event and what happened after it.
Second – Explain how your event is the start of the Revolutionary War. In explaining how it is the start you can also explain why other events are not the start.
Third – Who is to blame for the war and why. You can blame the colonies, Great Britain or both. Must be specific and must explain why.
