Greetings, Please read the attachment then write a paragraph that agrees or disagrees with the posting marked them. I have included the questions and my answers. My response should be a helpful critique to the them post which aligns with what I said in my answer. I don’t want yes, I agree…. The post response should be substantive and clear in its delivery which is short sweet and straight to the point. Sort like this I think you made some valid points here, but I think you should consider this.. or Think of it this way…. Note from Professor: To achieve A-level work, I would like you to try and cite specific passages, sentences or examples from the texts as supporting evidence for your responses to the questions. Please see the example below. There were many points you wrote about that I sincerely appreciate. You are so accurate. When you write, “racism is a deep-rooted, integral cog in the machine of the medical model,” This is a massive problem, our health systems are based on racism, and it needs to change. Part of our following 5-year CDC grant is talking with medical professionals about disability awareness/etiquette, access, and accommodations. When we do this, we must look at the intersectionality of the person. I have heard several disability organizations’ comments asking why they have to focus on being anti-racist when they are a disability organization; I do not understand this. Thank you for mentioning the moral model of disability when writing about Eric-Udorie’s experience. I had not even thought of that, and it makes me realize that I also need to keep in mind the different models other than social and medical. For example, I have heard people say that others acquire injuries because they were sinful, and it was their punishment, and that is so wrong and traumatizing. I also appreciate you sharing your personal relationship with Moore’s writing. The comment that resonated most for me in this post was when you said, “It is not ableist of me to wish that my head was not forever aching.” I would love nothing more than my chronic pain to be taken away because it has been so long since I remember a pain-free day. Thank you for such a thorough post.
