Consider a specific aspect of delinquent behavior or deviant act (e.g., fighting, stealing, gang membership, truancy, drug use, rapist, etc.). Apply the theory to the specific criminal or delinquent behavior and explain how the theory accounts for the existence of the behavior. Also, provide a personal critique of the theory’s ability to explain the behavior. In other words, is the theory more or less useful in describing and explaining why the behavior exists? The term paper will constitute 100 points of the course grade and will be graded on both content, grammar and presentation. If you have a relevant and interesting case not discussed in class that you would like to use for this exercise, see the instructor about this possibility. You will present the basics as well as in depth information of the theory (facts, history, how it is significant to the juvenile justice system). The paper should be no less than 15 pages and no more 20 pages, typed, double-spaced and in APA format per the 8th edition of the manual.
