Take-home Exam #1 Essay Prompt:
Define and explain the elements of actus reus and mens rea (the four main types) as discussed in video lecture utilizing a creative scenario.
Therefore, you must do the following in essay format in complete sentences—no numbers, letters, or bullet points are allowed:
Define actus reus in your own words and explain all three forms by using a creative scenario.
Define mens rea in your own words and explain the four main types of mens rea by using a creative scenario.
You do not need an introduction paragraph or conclusion paragraph. All you need is an introduction sentence and a conclusion sentence.
YOU MAY NOT USE ANY SCENARIOS FROM THE INTERNET. TRUST ME, I WILL CATCH YOU AND YOU WILL RECEIVE AN F AND POSSIBLE FURTHER DISCIPLINARY ACTION.
You may use one creative story for actus reus and one creative story for all mens rea or you may create separate stories for each type—I will leave this open to your creativity.
I will be looking for realism and a creative scenario with names of characters, locations, and so forth 🙂
If you are having trouble coming up with names, locations, and other components—think of your favorite actors, TV show or movie characters, book characters, places you wish you could vacation, and feel free to use me!
