THE
OBJECTIVES:
The

an outreach strategy designed to encourage community participation
in political problem-solving. PhotoVoice is a strategy social
workers can use to engage clients in group problem-solving.
Understand which level of government is
(or is not) responsible for and/or empowered to deal with particular
policy issues.
THE
DELIVERABLE:
A
photograph illustrating a community problem and a short essay that
answers a series of questions.
CHECK

1.
Review the slides for Workshop #2: Field Work & PhotoVoice.
2.
Review the template (below), which contains the questions you need
to discuss.
3.
Take (or find) a photo (or series of photos – no more than 3
or 4) that illustrates a problem that needs solving in your
community. Your photo can show an impact. You should avoid showing
identifiable individuals.
4.
Do the research indicated in the template & slides, especially
slides 25 -28.
5.
Using your photo(s) as a starting point, discuss the issues raised
by the questions. Much of this essay will be in first person. Refer
to the Style
Guide on D2L for
formatting and writing guidelines. Use the template correctly!
6.
PDF your file (so the pictures don’t move around) and upload
to D2L.
