I want you to find a News, Media or Advertisement of your own. It must be from the last 6 months. In order for me to grade you, you must include a copy of the original news article, media or advertisement. Your assignment is to use the 6-step method of analysis handout to analyze the source of your choice. You will do a write up using the model to help you analyze the article, media or advertisement. There are 6 paragraphs of questions you should ask yourself:
• Consider whether the report conflicts with what you have good reason to believe
• Look for Reporter slanting
• Consider the Source (is it biased? who put the piece out? do they have a financial stake? interest group?)
• Check for Missing Information
