Language is a big part of my life.
I am a Malaysian who is exposed to many cultures and languages, stemming from Malaysian to Mandarin and other dialects.
I also picked up Japanese in high school, and enjoyed learning a different perspective in the way people go about their lives
I have a big passion for understanding and learning the intercultural differences in my life and the languages I am learning.

Design a follow-up experiment, based on at least one of
the assigned papers (or a synthesis of multiple papers). Your response should include:
o A follow-up question that can be tested empirically
o The motivation for asking this question: why it is interesting and what are the possible, distinct answers to it (if the question only has one plausible answer, the question is trivial)
o A brief descriiption of the experimental design that would test this question
o The predicted pattern of results (according to different hypotheses)

Please find attached your research proposal draft with some suggestions.
It is important that you state from the beginning that your dissertation will be a practice-led one, and therefore it will be based on an extended translation of the proposed text.
In your proposal you need to include an introduction to the chosen text, what type of genre it is (popular psychology? Self-help book?) and explain what type of challenges this type of text will pose in English>Arabic translation.
I hope that this is helpful.
All the best,
Helena
I also uploaded the version that has to be corrected

PREVIOUS PAPER INSTRUCTIONS (#444535560): (With regard to the structure of your dissertation: you need to choose an amount of text of your selected book that amounts to 10,000 words of translation in the English-language source text. Then your commentary on the critical/theoretical issues and your discussion of your own translation strategies has to be of 5,000 words.) that’s my advisor instruction
I want to also add about the importance of translation that it should hold the same virtue as the original, inspire the readers, reflect the cultural differences while drawing pararelles that makes it accessible, and achieving a balance between literal and suggestive.
Ill translate from each part a small amount but the big part will be in the last part (the path of recovery) .
-please mention the theories and the strategies that i have to use
-the importance of translating books
-using creative translation
