The purpose of this project is to promote a public policy issue to include self-defense curriculum for K-12 instruction in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, in an effort to deter youth from bullying or youth becoming victims of bullying, or victims of suicide due to bullying. – A well-written and properly formatted headline that tells the most important information about the story; and answers the question, “Who did what?” – At least 1000 words of well-written and well-sourced text, including hyperlinks to relevant sources, properly attributing outside sources where necessary and appropriate, and telling an organized, newsworthy, and compelling narrative. It must also include: o A well-written lead that clearly establishes the crux of the story o A well-written nut graph that establishes the newsworthiness of the project with verified quantitative information, and answers the question, “So what?” – At least three different well-researched and well-produced multimedia elements of three different types, supplementing and providing ample context to the text, well-organized with respect to both the narrative and visual arrangement of the overall project, and representing the highest levels of journalistic and production quality.
