Remember the word “argument” does not mean a fight in a writing context. An academic argument is more like a thoughtful conversation between two people with differing viewpoints on a debatable issue. However, you are required to take a position on one side of the issue.
In order to foster learning and growth, all essays you submit must be newly written specifically for this course. Any recycled work will be sent back with a 0, and you will be given one attempt to redo the touchstone.
Your submission must include an APA style reference page following the essay. In your research, you will need 2 credible primary or secondary sources to use as support in your essay.

Teach the instructor about a process that you find interesting. This process can be something from your major or from outside school, but it should be a process that you think might interest the instructor.
The process can be one with human actors (as in a process people complete, for instance “sequencing DNA” or “brewing India Pale Ale”) or it can be a natural process (one that occurs without human involvement, for instance “photosynthesis”).
Please avoid processes that are banal, like “making a peanut butter sandwich.” Writing about such a commonly known process will prove much more difficult than picking a lesser known process.
The best topic–one that will help you achieve the following assignment requirements–will be a process that could affect the life of the intended audience. For instance, “brewing IPA” might save the reader money while also helping him relax after a hard week of grading papers, and “photosynthesis” might provide the basis for most life on earth, including the reader’s next meal.
The final draft of your procedural description should be less than 550 words. This maximum length will force you to make decisions about what types of content to include, and in what level of detail.
