I am applying to the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship at FSU which is a limited access program. My intended major is Commercial Entrepreneurship . One of the requirements is a Personal Statement/Essay (This is VERY important!): I need to explain why I am interested in the JMC major I selected and why I want to be an entrepreneur. I will upload a draft I have worked on but am open to your suggestions, even if it means re-writing the essay from a different angle, in order to improve my chances of being accepted. I also will upload a resume which I am required to submit as well, and they want to see evidence of prior entrepreneurial activity. Please could you also work on this in conjunction with the essay.
This should be individual report, not as stated book report ( that was the option available ). Please ignore the formative task, feel free to choose the organization/ company of your choice.
The main tasks in this assignment are A) read the background materials, B) take some self-assessment quizzes, and C) write up a self-development plan based on what you’ve read about in this module and your score on the quizzes. Report and discuss your results. Were your results surprising or what you expected to find? Now take the Emotional Intelligence Self-Assessment in Chapter 3 of Sterret (2006) as well as the Leadership Assessment in this chapter. Discuss how you scored on each of the different elements of Emotional Intelligence as well as your Leadership Assessment. Report and discuss your results. Were your results surprising or what you expected to find? Now we get to the main heart of the assignment. Based on what you have learned in this module and the quizzes you took above, give some specific examples of how you will improve your leadership skills. Your examples should be based on both your results on the two quizzes. Finally, discuss the main limitations of the quizzes you took and the concepts you read about for this module. What information is missing from the quizzes you took? What additional important aspects of leadership development are not covered in this material or quizzes? What else do you think you need to know about yourself in order to improve your leadership skills? For the Session Long Projects you will also be applying the concepts from the background materials. But instead of applying them to yourself, you will imagine that you are a leadership development coach who is hired to by organizations to diagnosis or give advice to managers. For each of the situations below, explain what advice or diagnosis you would give them based on your knowledge of the background readings. : Susan is a manager who decides to assess her strengths using some of the 24 classifications of the Values in Action Inventory of Strengths that you read about for this module. She discovers that two of her biggest strengths are “humor” and “teamwork.” She concludes that since these are her strengths she doesn’t need to change anything regarding her use of these strengths. Do you think this is a good use of her assessment, or should she make changes to her use of humor and teamwork? If so, what kind of changes? Harold has an MBA from Harvard and is focused on becoming a CEO before he is 45 years old. He is very good at networking and often makes friends with those who rank higher than him at his current organization. However, employees under his supervision feel that he often makes decisions based on what will get him promoted rather than on what is best for his employees or his organization. How would you characterize his emotional intelligence (EQ) skills based on the different elements of EQ discussed in the background readings? Be specific regarding which elements of EQ you think he is likely high on or which elements you think he may be lacking. Carl is known as a very caring manager based on his ability to understand his employee’s problems and taking careful to time to get to know each and every employee. He is personally well liked by all of his employees. However, the one complaint they do have about Carl is that he gets very upset when things don’t go well and takes things very personally. For example, when he found out that profitability for his unit had fallen over the last month he was so upset he had to take a couple of sick days off from work. How would you characterize his emotional intelligence (EQ) skills based on the different elements of EQ discussed in the background readings? Be specific regarding which elements of EQ you think he is likely high on or which elements you think he may be lacking. Armstrong, Cools, and Sadler-Smith (2012) conducted a systematic review of 938 journal publications over a period of 40 years and identified 4,569 peer-reviewed articles over a 40-year period on cognitive styles (how we think, perceive, make decisions, etc.) evidenced in business and industry. The research in cognitive styles grew six-fold from the period of 1969–1979 (the first decade of data collection) to the period from 1999–2009 (the fourth decade of data collection). If you have a moment, do a quick skim of the article. If you have more time, do a deep dive. The results are fascinating relative to the themes in the literature for cognitive styles and risk assessment. There are key themes and concepts in the systematic review and in the broader reading list that will be useful in guiding your Discussion this week and your work in the weeks ahead. To prepare for this Discussion, based on the decision to be made to address your problem or opportunity, cite and describe several risk assessment methodologies you can draw upon to assess the risks and benefits associated with the management decision outcomes. In your description, address the following points: • Describe methodologies to assess risks and benefits associated with management decision outcomes • Describe how stakeholder attitudes and bias towards risk will evaluated.
Supply Chain Management Select a company of your choice and calculate the most current days of working capital (DWC) that are available. Watch the short video segment “Working Capital,” which is one of the required unit resources in this unit. In addition to your calculations, include the information below in your essay. How does this company’s ratio compare to those of its competitors? Why is comparing this ratio to the industry average important? Explain how a well-managed supply chain can come into play here. You may use the company’s webpage, or keep in mind that the CSU Online Library has several databases to choose from that are good starting points for your research: Mergent Online, Business Insights: Global, Business Source Ultimate, and ABI/INFORM Collection. Your essay should be at least two pages in length. Use APA format to cite and reference all quoted and paraphrased material, including your textbook. Use a minimum of two sources, one of which may be the textbook. Include a title page, introduction, body, conclusion, and references page. An abstract is not required. Link for video:
Please use the attached file as the paper’s main sources, the other one would be any information related to the company, to analyze Amazon in terms of how the general environmental factors may affect each of the five industry forces (rivalry, buyer power, supplier power, threat of new entrants, and threat of substitutes). 1 single-spaced page of the analysis excludes the title and references pages. Thanks.
A core theme in our readings this week is the importance of a close relationship between HR and the operation of the business. In Powerful, McCord emphasizes that every single employee has to understand the business.
What processes does your organization have in place to support communication between HR and business-unit leadership in the areas of succession planning and strategy? Explain how these are implemented and what is and is not working well.
What steps can companies that do not have such processes in place take to ensure strong alignment between the HR function and the Mission, Values, and Strategy of the business? Include specific references to this week’s materials and/or additional sources to support your response.
I work for the IRS so please include.
I need a personal statement for my college application. I want you to write things that would make me stand out in a college (it’s okay for you to bluff about some interests I may have), but ultimately, the goal is to try to make it sound authentic and unique. Kinda like you’re telling a life story. Im majoring In business, so if you can, try to connect made up life lessons to how that may help me in my field of study.I’mmade-up
