As the name suggests, you will need to conduct a comparison of a manga that’s been
adapted into an anime, the work can be ongoing. You will need to examine the
adaption from the perspectives of plot and character changes, visual style, and other
aspects of anime such as quality of animation, music, and casting etc.
An analysis of audience reception is also required, including comparison of
perspectives from manga readers vs anime watchers. You may use MyAnimeList,
Reddit, AnimeNewsNetworks etc. and any other online forums or publications (eg:
Twitter, Tumblr, discord, or video essays) for the examination of reception, make sure
to properly cite your sources. You should provide an overview of the reception, and
explain why you think the receptions are as positive/negative as they are.
The write up should be about 1800 words (±500 words), subheadings are preferred
excluding bibliography and any appendix. Academic sources are not required, but
very much welcomed.

After going through the PowerPoint and doing the reading, watch Bruce Conner “A Movie”. Isolate one or two shot sequences that employ the Kuleshove effect. How do you make sense of the these sequences? And how do they affect your understanding of the meaning overall? What are some of the general themes that the film in general established by means of open association? Write a statement no less then 300 words that respond analytically to the reading.
Part 2: reflective journal, 100-150 words, briefly discuss the Palmquist reading. What are some of the challenges that you might expect trying to write an effective paper? And how might you cope with them.
I have provided the PowerPoints with video links to watch. Also, the readings are attached

Instructions
The purpose of this assignment is a Journal entry is to show you can explain course content and apply key terms to contemporary issues or everyday life.
This Journal entry is focusing on Intersectionality of social media platforms and the risk to our privacy with the more platforms we use even if using aliases.
Contain relevant (and ideally, original) examples (e.g. pictures, links, videos, screenshots, citations etc.) that appropriately and effectively support or provide context for your points, observations and arguments.
Journal entries must apply and reference the week’s assigned readings/course material. Where concepts come from readings, the reading should be cited, not the lecture videos.
Make sure to include a list of references/works cited at the bottom of your Journal entry. 2 reference articles also attached
The word count for each Journal entry is 400-450 words (this does not include references/works cited list).
Completion, Assessment and Marking
Journal entries should have an introduction, a body and a conclusion. The introduction should give the reader an idea of what points you will argue in relation to course content or key terms from the Module.
The writing style should adhere to best writing practices – please spell check, grammar check and proofread – and reference the authors/readings that you are drawing from. Opinions are fine, but must be informed by course material – even if you disagree!
Author attribution is required when using their ideas or directly quoting from them. Please write using the MLA referencing style. Visit the The Libary’s website for resources on MLA.
You are welcome to be creative in your approach at maximising words by embedding visual examples that support your claims. In order to include images in your Journal entry, you need to save these on your computer first and then add them by using the + sign from the menu at the top of your Journal entry.
If you are embedding links that is fine but do not paste entire URLs in the middle of the Journal entry, these can go in the list of works cited instead.
Your Journal entries will be marked using the following seven broad criteria:
1. Coverage of important issues
2. Use and evidence of reading
3. Depth of understanding
4. Strength of argument
5. Structure and expression
6. Spelling, grammar, referencing
7. Creativity and originality

Select one of the following speeches below. Using outside research, in-class notes, and media examples, develop an argument discussing the significance of these speeches within the changes to the medium of television throughout its history. In raising this argument, develop an analysis with visual and historical evidence about how the speech’s main ideas contributed to and demonstrated the industrial shifts and commercial trends of television that we’ve studied. This argument should cite the course readings to support its analysis and incorporate at least oneclose textual analysis of TV programming. Students are encouraged to cite examples of television programming from outside the course only if it supports their argument.

Select one of the following cable channels: TBS, HBO, CNN, BET MTV, and Bravo. Conduct some research to answer the following questions: How can we look at the development of this cable channel to understand how the politics of the mass audience changed in the late 1970s and 1980s? What is the origin of this cable channel? Who or what companies founded it? Based on our studies of network television, how did this channel attempt to re-imagine the concept of television and its mass audience? How did this emergent channel advertise itself to new audiences? How did the channel use advertising (commercials, magazine spreads, etc) to develop this new audience demographic? What type of programming dominated the channel in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s? What can we learn about changing ideas about audience demographics and the representation of social identities through these programming shifts?

I will attach 2 previous papers and final instructions. Please follow the final instructions completely as the second paper omitted media names and did not include enough sources. If you have any questions please let me know. The 2 paragraphs that I must read and post to YouTube should be on a separate paper and I, of course, will take care of that part. Thanks so much!
