What do you think of the soft drink’s stance or position?
If you were the public relations counsel for Coca-Cola, what would you recommend regarding this conflict?
And this additional question:
If you were the public relations counsel to Mayor Bloomberg and the City of New York, what advice would you have given them?  How would you have rolled out this campaign to make it more acceptable to the residents of New York City?

Scenario: You run a public relations agency that specializes in issue management

Scenario: You run a public relations agency that specializes in issue management and corporate social responsibility for mid-to-large size businesses. You have been hired by Hilldale Coffee (fictional) to help them with their issues management and CSR. For this assignment, you will choose ONE OF THE FOLLOWING issues to focus on for your report:
a) politics and corporate activism
b) misinformation, disinformation and mistrust
c) diversity, equity and inclusion
d) climate change and sustainability
Purpose: The purpose of the report is to define and explain the issue for your client, assess the relevance of this issue to your client, consider the client’s policies and record on the issue, offer a brief SWOT analysis and recommendations.
Client: Hilldale Coffee is the nation’s fifth-largest coffee chain with an expanding global market.  The publicly traded company has a range of stakeholders whose interests overlap with the four issues below in a variety of ways. To learn more about Hilldale Coffee, and its policies and track record related to the issue, you will use the “Client Profile and Background Info” document.
Issue: To learn more about the issue you choose, you will use the “Issue Management List.” It is expected that you will use and cite at least three articles for your report.
Structure and Format: Your report should be no longer than 500-600 words (not including works cited), single-spaced, with a space between sections (just like this document). Do not indent any sections of the report. Section headings should be written in ALL CAPS. To generate your report, use the section headers and set of questions for each (outlined below). Your word limit is not very long so you’ll have to be concise. You do NOT have to count your section headings or works cited in your word count. Use Calibri or Times New Roman font in size 11 or 12.
Citing Sources: When you are using sources for information within the report itself (like in specific sections), put any direct quotations in “quote marks” and identify the source using parenthesis (Johnson). At the end of the report, include a list of the sources quoted and consulted by identifying the name of the article or database, the source (PEW, Forbes, etc.), the author (if applicable) and the year (if available). I don’t care in what order you list these items as long as your are consistent throughout. See below for more details.
