1. Chapter 12 Review Notes:
I have written these notes to guide your study of Chapter 12 Health Inequalities, Environmental Racism, and Environmental Justice in Race and Racisms with a view to developing your writing and analysis for the assignment due on 11/22. The assignment due on 11/20 is posted under the Assignment link.
Start with an overview of Chapter 12 themes presented on page 373. Write an outline of the chapter topics listed on page 373.
Make a list of the key terms presented in chapter 12—see page 406—and study these terms.
Read and develop an outline in your chapter notes that follow the development of arguments and presentation of data in Chapter 12. Note that the arguments and data in Chapter 12 include a historical framework, social science data drawn from several sources, and discussion of legislation and public policy. Create an outline that addresses the three areas below and take notes on each as you read.

Pay attention to the information presented in the chapter figures and graphs. Note the sources and evidence the author used to sustain arguments presented in Chapter 12.
Work on the review questions found at the end of Chapter 12. Draw on your study of key terms and chapter outline to inform your responses to the review questions.
Apply your study and written work on the above material to inform the assignment you submit.

Apply key concepts, social science data, and legislative history presented in Golash-Boza, Race and Racisms, Chapter 12, Health Inequalities, Environmental Racism, and Environmental Justice to explain the effects of environmental racism on people of color living in low-income and/or poverty-stricken neighborhoods. In your analysis draw on data and key terms presented in Chapters 9 and 10 income and wealth inequality to discuss the characteristics of low-income and/or poverty-stricken neighborhoods.
Make a list of the key terms on page 406 and take notes on these terms presented in Chapter 12. Carefully examine the data health disparities and environmental racism. Work on the Chapter review questions and use your written answers on these questions to guide your analysis and writing for this assignment.
