Requirements:
1.500 – 1000 words (does not include the Literature Cited section, Title, Name or course information)
• Format should follow a logical layout including an introduction to the topic, supporting
paragraphs, and a conclusion
2. Times New Roman font, 12 point, double spaced
A maximum of 2 direct quotes is allowed
Include a word count at the end of the main body
• i.e., Word Count: 858
3. In-text citations required
• All paragraphs should have a minimum of 1 in-text citation as you are getting your knowledge
from somewhere
• Be sure to paraphrase (put it in your own words). An in-text citation is still required to document
the source of your knowledge even with paraphrasing. DO NOT PLAGIARIZE
• Every time you change a source it must be cited in the text, even if it is in the same paragraph.
• All sources listed in the Literature Cited section must be cited at least once in the text.
• Use an appropriate format (APA or MLA or other related to your field of study). Do not write
out the entire source and all the information in the body of the paper.
• Example: The prairie plant seedlings should begin emerging in the spring (Lewis, 2021) or
According to Lewis (2021), the prairie grasses will begin growing this spring.
o NOT ACCEPTABLE:
According to Heather Lewis in the article “Prairie Plants” found in
the Journal of Make-believe (2021) on page 2, prairie plants……..
4.Literature Cited , Use APA or MLA , A minimum of 3 sources are required from the ACC Library Databases
o> 3 sources may be used and
o> 3 may be from a source other than the ACC library
 Confirm that all sources in the literature cited match the cited sources in your paper. In other
words, literature cited and in-text citations should match 100%.
Example: The example in 5. (Lewis, 2021). My literature cited will contain documentation:
Lewis, Heather. “Prairie Plants.” Journal of Make-believe, vol.1, Jan. 2021, pp. 2 – 4.
