Business and Corporate Aviation Management – Chapter Four: Running the Business
You are the Personnel Manager for your corporate flight department. Your flight department has six pilots and a fleet of two King Air 350s (requires a type rating), a Learjet 45, and a Citation M2. (Buy American!) The economy has been kind to your corporation, and the business thrives. You have long since retired from flying and your job description is that of supervising the flight department.
Your oldest pilot has just retired, and there is a vacancy in your flight department. The CEO has given you the green light to hire a new full time pilot for your flight department. With your broad aviation background and experience as a corporate pilot, it is your job to find the best candidate for this job. Describe the process of doing this in great detail. What are some of the requirements you will do for hiring, and what specific steps will be the most import for you to consider?
Choose your answers carefully and write a minimum of three, well defined paragraphs (that means discuss at least three areas to consider when hiring a new pilot). Do not simply copy text, but use your own words. Cite at least one source.
