Reflection Paper: Your Cultural Identity (250 points)
To facilitate students’ self-awareness of their own cultural identity, students will submit a Reflection Paper discussing the development and meaning of their individual cultural identity and how their cultural identity may have changed over time. The textbook describes cultural identity as: “Culture consists of all those things that people have learned to do, believe, value, and enjoy. It is the totality of the ideals, beliefs, skills, tools, customs, and institutions into which members of society are born”. 200 points (80% of the grade).
Students are expected to demonstrate excellence in Writing Quality as measured by the following: 2-3 pages limit (no less than 2 pages and no more than 3 pages), 12-point font, clarity of thought demonstrated by complete sentences (no bullets), three or less grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors – 50 points (20% of the grade)
