Prompt: not sure what prompt because it is timed, but once i start the clock I will be given one of the four prompts below
“The Rise and Fall of Sharpie Cakes” by Haruki Murakami

Essay Requirements:
ntroduction that includes: 1) the title of the story, 2) the author’s name, 3) a complete summary of the story (this can usually be accomplished in a few short sentence) and 4) a thesis that concentrates on a specific idea and responds to the prompt given.
Your essay cannot be just a summary of the story or contain illogical tangents. Each body paragraph (and there should be 3 body paragraphs minimum) should concentrate on specific evidence from the story that helps to explain your answer (your thesis) to the prompt.
The story should be quoted in your essay at least once. (the quotation should include signal phrasing and correct reference in MLA format, meaning that the author’s last and and the page number that the quotation came from is referenced).

at least one more body paragraph which introduces the third bit of evidential proof to be analyzed and focuses solely on that idea (and details how this supports the thesis, if necessary).
