Description of the task is:
Students are asked to write a review of the movie Cesky sen (Czech Dream). The review should include an investigation of the East European cultural motifs and assessment of the advertising campaign shown in the movie (together 700 words).

1. Please find in the movie phenomenons of economy in transition, consumer society in the making. Please where in the movie is best described the novelty of the whole hypermarket world – fast change from no supermarkets and now families spending whole weekends in supermarkets. Simply ask what would be not possible in established consumer society and you saw it in the documentary. Ask yourself what would be not possible in your country (United States), your consumer culture and you saw it in the documentary.
Also several moral problems are visible not only in the movie, but also the whole idea of such a project can be questioned (for tax payers at least). Or please write about the collective identity versus individualism (individual responsibility) of shoppers who find themselves at the final scenes on the meadow.
