Where in the world have genocides or attempted genocides taken place?
Note: The best examples are the Jewish Holocaust and the Armenian … however, for purposes of this Discussion, we will not use those two! Please do not discuss those two, because this chapter is not about the Jews of Europe nor Armenia.
For purposes of this Discussion, a very general statement is adequate.
Now, looking at the area where a genocide (attempted) occurred, which major power had control of those land mass in the decades prior.
Is there a correlation?
Looking at 1-2 of those events, why did they occur?
Going back to a previous question – why did the European powers want control of that land mass (where the attempted genocide occurred)? Did the new leaders want to help their fellow citizens and share the newly controlled wealth in their country? Why or why not.
Choose 10 African countries (do not choose Libya, Egypt, Morocco, or South Africa), and list the resource they have (under soil or in country)?
What involvement then did the major European power have in the country where the genocide occurred? What did they do during the genocide? Why?
Based upon the resources in the 10 countries you selected, doesn’t it seem odd this continent (Africa) is so impoverished and in need of virtually everything? Is it a coincidence?
