Westside Police Intelligence Analysts are busy gathering and analysing data abou

Westside Police Intelligence Analysts are busy gathering and analysing data about the existence and strength of associations between the entities (people, places, organisations).
They need your help. Your task is to construct an Intelligence Report about the existence and strength of associations between the entities with a view to establishing the identity of the Dread Pirate. You will work through stages of the intelligence process to produce the link chart. You practised these steps in the process in a week 7 activity, Charting the Police!
Your Intelligence Report will comprise:
an evaluation table
an association matrix
a link chart;
a written summary about the nature of the links and associations between the entities provided.
—————
1. Refresh on week 7 readings, specifically, the Criminal Intelligence Manual for Analysts 2011 (CIMA), pp. 29 – 51. Review your week 7 practice activity, Charting the Police! Download the Intelligence Report Template.
3. Collect Data: review the Westside Justice episodes and Westside Justice Brief. Identify statements, interview transcripts, or footage from Westside Justice episodes that will help you to establish whether associations are confirmed or unconfirmed.
4. Evaluate data: Use the 4 x 4 or 6 x 6 evaluation method to complete your evaluation table. Base your evaluation decisions on the most reliable and valid data.
5. Prepare Association Matrix: Using the association codes outlined in CIMA 2011 (see below), construct an association matrix showing the confirmed or unconfirmed associations for the entities listed in the intelligence tasking. You may wish to do this by hand on lined paper or in the assessment template provided. Do not insert a code in the matrix to indicate the existence of associations that cannot be judged (F6 – 6×6 method).
6. Prepare a Link Chart: Using the shapes provided in the template, construct a link chart that best describes the associations between the entities listed in the intelligence tasking. (CIMA, pp. 39 – 40).
7. Write a summary: Allocate 500 – 600 words of your word count to the summary. The balance of the total word amount can be allocated to your notes in your evaluation table. Going under or over the word total word amount is unimportant in this assessment, however, you will need 500 – 600 words to summarise the associations. Your summary tells the story of what is presented in your link chart.
8. Spell and grammar check, and add your name at the top of your report.
9. Upload your completed Intelligence Report (Evaluation Table, Association Matrix, Link Chart, and Written Summary) in one document to the Submit Assessment 1C link.
