Think about your favorite social psychological concepts, and how ONE of them is clearly demonstrated in a book, TV show, or movie. [NOTE: The movies Mean Girls and Breakfast Club are over used to illustrate a number of social psychological concepts (e.g., social influence, conformity, stereotypes) so are off the table – DON’T USE THEM but they are good examples of movies with scenes that illustrate a concept or two!] Define the chosen concept and discuss how it is illustrated in the selected media. Make sure that your writing tells a clear story to everyone ― including those without any knowledge about the media selected or social psychological concept involved.
To earn all possible points for this assignment, (1) your paper must be at least 500 words in length, grammatically correct, and without spelling or punctuation errors; (2) the psychological concept discussed must be clearly defined in layman’s terms; (3) the media introduced must clearly and accurately illustrate the intended psychological concept; and (4) your paper must contain AT LEAST TWO credible and APA-compliant citations/references – one for the social psychological concept that is from a peer-reviewed scientific journal, and one for the media you choose to illustrate the concept.
REMEMBER – EVERYTHING MUST BE IN YOUR OWN WORDS – BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO PLAGIARIZE ANYTHING, INCLUDING DEFINITIONS.
