The paper should be research-
based and reflect the themes, concepts, and ethical factors and issues stressed in relation to
the material covered in the course. You will write a draft for each paper unless the initial draft
is exceptional or “A” worthy. Papers are primarily graded in terms of content, organization
and mechanics (e.g., proper footnoting or use of in-text citations and Works Cited page).
The paper is related to Latinx people, culture or history. The focus should be on “Hawai’i,” although you can of course bring in outside examples and comparative histories. Review the readings for ideas (added some below). Note that this first paper should be more “historically” focused, although you can lead the subject matter into a more contemporary focus by first giving historical background, context and analyses concerning your subject. You should also bring into your paper/analysis some of the ethical dimensions of the course we’ve been covering.
I am looking for two things in your Outline: 1) the thesis (or main point) of your paper; and 2) 3-4 supporting points (or how you will support your thesis). That’s it.
