CASE STUDY ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
For this Case Study, you will submit a 10-12 page Case Study on one of two CRJ aircraft
accidents. Current APA format must be used with a minimum of 5 sources cited. Please choose
from either Comair 5191 or Pinnacle Airlines 3701. Use the National Transportation Safety
Board (NTSB) report along with at least 4 other sources, investigate what happened in the
accident/incident, offer the causes, and the recommendations for the future in order to prevent
such an accident/incident. Since this is an advanced jet systems course, you must highlight and
explore, in depth, the advanced system-related causes.
INSTRUCTIONS
There must be an official NTSB report with the accident. The other 5 sources must be from
an academic source (books, journal, newspaper article, etc.).
The following components must be present within your report. Please be sure to follow the
template provided.

To assist in the formation of the Case Study Report, a Case Study Template is provided. It is
highly recommended that you follow the template to ensure all components of the Case Study
Report have been executed thoroughly.
Aviation Accident/Incident Reports can be found in the NTSB Accident Reports database found
in Module 3: Week 3 of this course. Be sure to cite the NTSB report you have chosen to
evaluate and study for this assignment.
The following are the requirements for the Case Study:
– 10-12 pages in length
 This length does not include the cover page and reference page.
– APA-formatted
– All required components are present and student used provided template
– Minimum of 5 sources cited (not including the NTSB report)
