My research paper will consist of the ideology differences between Democrats and Republicans in the House of Representatives. First, I plan on introducing a brief history from the United States Constitution on how it was written to function and then compare it to the Congress we now have. What led the founding fathers to create a democracy? Why was it designed to be the most powerful branch of government? How did the creation of the Republican and Democrat parties come about? And what makes them so different? All these questions will be a foundation for finding the answer to my research question and help me explain each party’s beliefs, principles, ideas, values and how they differ. We hear in today’s society that Republicans and Democrats have become more divided than ever before and I want to know why. Not by watching CNN or Fox News or reading the Washington Post, but from the core starting from the beginning and seeing how we got the Congress we have today.
