For the action plan I would like to base the plan on a staff nurse that focuses on quality care. This nurse has the role of assessing through quality rounds that patients are being repositioned every 2 hours and he/she should remind the patient’s nurse that the patient is due for repositioning. Along with this the quality care nurse should aid the patient’s nurse in the repositioning process if the patient is too big for the nurse to do so alone. Another idea to incorporate in the action plan would be alerts that pop up in the ascoms or spectralinks to remind the patient’s nurse that it is time for repositioning. Lastly, purchasing and investing in more turning beds should also be a part of the action plan. This can be since there are more obese patients admitted to hospitals which makes straining for their nurses to reposition every 2 hours. Please focus the action plan on these ideas.
