Making informed decisions on nursing practice and patient outcomes on a global basis requires evidence-based research. Therefore, evidence-based research has continued to be an essential aspect of the nursing profession, where clinical decisions are based on evidence and research, resulting in improved patient outcomes (Harper., et al 2017). How I plan to apply what I have learned in this course for my upcoming practicum experience is the importance of health care policy and leadership skills to continue to impact our healthcare system as a whole positively.
I plan to apply content from NR506NP to the upcoming clinical courses by having more awareness in improving my leadership skills and how much of an impact our profession has on health care policy. Through practice, confidence, and efficiency in advanced practice competencies, I believe the nursing profession can continue to advocate for communities and patients to continue to improve outcomes. Advanced practice nursing competencies prepare us to serve as leaders and adavocates of the population (Heinen., et al 2019)
