To read a journal article and write a critical appraisal of the investigation – a careful, conscious and cognitive
effort to objectively and clearly make a judgment about the piece of research for its worth and implication to public health
Prepare your report as a paper with appropriate headings and use APA format 6th edition, double spaced and 12pt font. Be
sure to cite your references at the end of the report. Use a formal, academic writing style that include an introduction, body
and conclusion. Specific instructions for the assignment, can be found in the blackboard course page.
Present briefly and concisely the following:
1. The complete article citation on the critique
2. The purpose of the article – objectives, study questions, or hypotheses
3. The research method(s) used by the researcher(s) to conduct the study
4. Major findings of the study
5. Implications, interpretations of the major findings
6. The effectiveness of the theory application and study
7. Relationship to public health and topic covered in the textbook
