This group project is the extension of the project you conducted for PAD 6726. Your group project in PAD 6726 has identified a policy topic that you are interested in
You are requested to collect appropriate data and conduct quantitative analysis to examine the relationships that you have identified for each topic. The project should consists of the following part:
Introduction—briefly introduce your topic, clearly state the research question
Literature review— provide previous study on your topic and formulate your hypotheses.
Data—describe your data source – (JUST COMPLETE THIS)

Descriptive analysis
Hypothesis testing

Conclusion: summarize your main findings
You should have completed the first three parts in PAD 6726. The quantitative analysis part is a cumulative in nature and cover most of the concepts we studied in class and shows how you can apply statistical techniques to solve practical problems. You need to use Excel to do this problem. Using Analysis ToolPak or Pivot table to conduct the following analysis:
Identify the unit of analysis, dependent variable and independent variable.
Individuals –under 10/4 work schedule and under 8/5 work schedules
Individuals—Required to speak English and not required to speak English at workplace
Counties—Unemployment rate and crime rate vary across counties and years
Counties—Implementing civil citation and not implementing civil citations
Police departments—equipped with body worn camera and not equipped with body worn cameras
Descriptive analysis of the dependent and independent variables—frequency table, descriptive summaries, histogram depending on the level of measurement
Contingency table of dependent and independent variables
Comparing the dependent variable between the groups of your independent variable. Perform two independent groups t-test to test your hypothesis
Scatter plot and correlation coefficient table of you dependent and independent variable
Make a correlation coefficient matrix table of your dependent and independent variables.
Draw scatter plot between the dependent variable and the independent variables
Including other control variables, run the regression analysis
Write the multiple regression equation
Find the coefficient of determination— R2.
Which of the regression coefficient are significant? What is the effect of each variable on the dependent variable?
