Devotions: The Selected Poems of Mary Oliver.

Your paper should be 5-7 pages, well-written, and reflective of your own experience of the reading and in your own experience of environment. Please do not plagiarize or reword previously written reviews or other critiques – make this personal and share your own story in relation to how the book speaks to you about environmental issues, places, and situations.
In addition, try to tie the book to TWO (2) fields of environmental studies. These can related fields or fields very different from each other, but you must argue for why the book can be classified as a representation of those 2 fields. 
Reader’s Guide:
Can you identify with some of the issues and concerns the author raises? Does the author give voice to your own interests in environmental issues, political economy, environmental justice, or place?
How is the book written? Is it based on personal experience? A memoir? Research project? Narrative? An investigation? What is the author’s “day job” and how does this work inspire or influence the power of the book?
What is the purpose of the book? Why did the author write it? What are the important questions the author raises about environment and people?
Who is the author writing for? Who is his or her intended audience?
What impacted you most in this reading? What stories, analysis, or research did you find most interesting? How can you use this work to guide your own academic or personal interests in environmental studies (environmental justice, political economies, advocacy/activism, etc.)?
If you could sit with author for an hour, what questions would you ask? What conversations would you like to have?
What fields of environmental studies provide this work with a theoretical or pragmatic home? Where does it nest? Why? Defend your answers by comparing it to other works (books, articles, films, art, research, schools of thought) that relate to those fields.
