Requirements for Written Critique
Your critique will be written in essay form, using proper English and spelling. They are to be typed, 11-12 point font, double spaced. Paper should be 3-5 pages in length with an introduction and conclusion. In your essay, describe specific actions or comments that made the speaker effective or ineffective and explain why the speaker or message was effective or not effective. Use concepts and terminology from your public speaking textbook to analyze the effectiveness of speaker and message and the effect on the audience. Cite your readings at least five times (different citations) in your paper in proper APA format. I want you to use three different chapters.
This should be a formal presentation (not one of your professors giving a lecture).  COVID Semester — You do NOT need to observe in person like past classes were required but can observe a speech posted online that is of relevance to you and one where you can also observe the audience.
