F‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍or the proposal paper, you are asked to develop a proposal for a counseling group based on what you learned from the informational interview. The idea is that if you were working there, and after you learn about their working situation and the practical needs, how would you use a group modality to assist with one of their needs. Please note that this should be a group that you may actually lead in the future, so you should try to make it relevant and practical. Some examples could be: a social interaction training and growth group for socially withdrawn children in schools, or a support group for veterans struggling with transition back to civilian life, or an interpersonal group for alcohol misuse patients who are facing interpersonal relationship difficulties, and so on… In developing the proposal of group, you are required to integrate what you have learned over the course of the semester about group dynamics, process, and one or more most relevant theories, as well as your own supplemental literature search and reading pertinent to your choice of topic/population/setting. For this task, you are required to submit a proposal paper either individually or as a dyad (10-12 pages excluding title page and references, double-spaced, 12-pt font, and 1-inch margin on all sides). The paper must include: ? In this section, you need to (a) base the proposal on one or more of group counseling theory (explain the theory briefly and how this theory guides your group); (b) integrate your knowledge about group development, dynamics, and the interpersonal processes—what may happen dynamically and interpersonally and how you will conceptualize that; and (c) specify plans/stages/processes of the group, and what skills will you use to facilitate in each stage and the overall group process. ?
