Consider our final set of readings. What stands out to you as you consider each of the text (treat the odes as one text) Compare and contrast the author’s use of metaphor, imagery, symbolism, and themes to develop the main characters and the conflicts they encounter. Which metaphors, images, symbols, and themes do we encounter in more than one text? What does each author help us to consider about the way in which we use these literary devices to capture our relationship to and conflicts with the act of eating and the foods we consume?
As always, a well-developed unified reflection will be between 1.5 (three paragraphs) to 3 pages (six paragraphs) in length (double spaced), engage critically in the ideas and concepts presented, and have a clear three-part structure (introduction, supporting paragraph(s), conclusion. Assume readers are familiar with the plots and keep summaries to a minimum.
