The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with an opportunity to:
(1) learn about a conflict-, human-made- or natural disaster situation
(outside of Canada) of your choosing that has resulted in displacement.
(2) practice your research skills.
(3) practice your academic writing; and
(4) practice your visual and verbal presentation skills. 
This assignment is the end-product of an involved process of reading, research, source evaluation, organization, composition, and presentation.
You should start this process early in the term as your assignment will change and evolve as you explore, interpret, and learn about your case study and conflict, displacement, and development in an international context (outside of Canada).
you will extensively research the case study situation you have selected, and write a scholarly paper based on the comprehensive research of your case study.
This paper should be 7 pages, not including the title page, references, and appendices.
The following components are required for the research paper component of this assignment: 
Title page: In proper APA format including a shortened title
Introduction. Provide an introduction that sets the context of your case study. Describe the conflict-, human-made- or natural disaster situation (outside of Canada) that has resulted in displacement that will be discussed in your paper describe the displaced population that will be discussed; explain the magnitude of the problem (conflict, natural disaster, etc.) and why your selected case study is of importance; describe the purpose of your paper, and explain how your paper is organized.
Methods. Describe the process undertaken to complete a review of the relevant literature. In your brief description, provide the following information: databases searched (e.g., SCOPUS, Google Scholar), search terms, number of references found, number of references selected and
the rationale for the selection of the articles and additional resources you have examined. 
Literature Review and Discussion.  You are required to critically review the relevant research about your respective conflict/displacement situation. This includes a detailed and comprehensive: (a)overview of the conflict/disaster situation, (b) description of the roots causes of displacement associated with your context/situation, and (c) analysis of the humanitarian responses to the conflict/disaster situation you are studying.
It is expected that your research case study will be written based on information from a variety of sources including original research articles,
official international, national, and local health/social organizations websites, and reports. At minimum 6 peer-reviewed original research articles published in scientific journals must be included in your research paper.
Conclusions and Recommendations. In this final section of your scholarly research paper, you must summarize the most appropriate conclusions based on the information reviewed and discussed in your paper. Here you must include three key points that someone should know about this conflict/disaster situation that has resulted in displacement. You must also provide three recommendations to address your conflict/disaster situation and improve the well-being of those displaced by the situation. This may include political policy, financial policy, social policy, health policy, awareness-raising and advocacy, law reform, or research and humanitarian practice.
Reference List. Append a list of references cited in your paper in proper APA 7th edition format.
